Regulations for Associations and Groups belonging to the Alumni Community

Guidelines

1 - Purpose

The Alumni Community of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (hereinafter referred to as the Community) is composed of people who have obtained a degree at any level and in any field at the University; the Alumni Community of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is not constituted as an association and has no legal personality.
The Community aims to be a large network that brings together the main associations and groups formed by former students who identify with the values of the University and who want to contribute personally to its growth, updating their knowledge and strengthening their relationships.
The Community creates for its members initiatives in the fields of culture and leisure, to enhance their professional and personal path.
These Guidelines govern the conditions, methods and access to the Community and its services.

2 - List of Associations and Groups

The Associations and Groups recognised by the Community can be consulted on the Alumni website of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
In order to ascertain the permanence of the Associations and Groups, an audit is periodically carried out by the competent offices of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
Any new enrolment or cancellation is assessed by the competent administrative offices of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

3 - Associations and Groups

Associations and Groups are considered Associations and Groups if, at the time of their establishment, their purpose is to carry out, on a non-profit basis, activities of a cultural, recreational and educational nature, in favour of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore for the support of teaching and research, as well as aimed at the development of the University itself.
In order to be recognised, Associations and Groups must, when applying for recognition, demonstrate that they have at least ten members registered.

4 - Recognition, registration and removal from the list of Associations and Groups

For the purpose of recognition and consequent inclusion in the list of Associations and Groups, referred to in point 2, the President of the Association or the contact person of the Group must submit an application addressed to the Rector of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore with the following attachments:

  • in the case of an Association, a copy of its Statute;
  • in the case of a Group, a report containing the reasons for its formation and the purposes it sets;
  • a list of the Members of the Association or Group (indicating their name, surname and type of membership). The list shall be checked by the competent offices of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuoreto to ensure that it corresponds to the requirements set out in point 3, paragraph 2;
  • in the case of an Association, a list of Members holding a social office with an indication of the same.

In the case of Associations, changes to the Statute and to any social office must be promptly notified to the administrative structures of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
The Rector will give written notice to the Association or Group concerned of the fact that it has or has not been included in the list.
The reoval from the list of Associations and Groups may be ordered by reasoned decision. Removal may be ordered in the following cases:

  • failure to comply with the founding purposes of the Association or Group or with the purposes set out in these Guidelines;
  • acts and conduct directly attributable to Associations or Groups that are seriously detrimental to the image or interests of the Almuni Community and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore;
  • failure to meet the requirements set out in these Guidelines.

5 - Self-managed initiatives by Associations and Groups

For the implementation of initiatives, Associations and Groups may request organisational support from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, which will grant it at its discretion in consideration of the relevance of the initiative for the purposes of the Community.
If the initiatives promoted by the Associations and Groups consist in the implementation of projects aimed at financing scholarships and degree awards or at raising funds in favour of the University, of its students, graduates or activities, the University shall guarantee its organisational support, subject to agreement on the initiative itself.

6 - Spaces for holding initiatives

Associations and Groups may also request the use of University spaces by submitting a request to the relevant offices. Authorisation for such use is granted at the discretion of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, compatibly with other educational, teaching and research activities.

7 - Obligations of Associations and Groups

Associations and Groups are required to keep an up-to-date register of adhering Members or their participants and to make it known to the relevant offices of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore that manage the Community.
Associations and Groups are required to communicate in advance their initiatives of interest to the Community, as well as any calendar of such initiatives, to Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
Associations and Groups that do not comply with the requirements of these Guidelines will be excluded from the possibility of using the organisational and communication support regulated in point 5, as well as from the use of spaces regulated in point 6.
