Le Grand Central - Brussels
New year, Brussels starts earlier

The annual meeting of the Italian Alumni Coordination in the European capital was held on 25 October at the Grand Centrale, a glamorous venue in the business centre of Brussels. The event brought together more than 300 former students and professionals from all Italian universities, in what now appears to be a large working group of our academies in Brussels as well as a spin-off of the universities that is gaining more and more weight in the Italian system in Europe.

The Alumni Cattolica Chapter was represented by Marco, Carlo, Marcello, Simona and Chiara who, together with the members of the European Coordination, took part in the organization of the work, in the management of operations and teamed up with the representatives of the other sixteen universities present.

"The Coordination is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the Italian alumni who work in different sectors in the city. – explains Chiara Conte, representative of Università Cattolica in the Coordination of Italian Alumni Associations – A wealth of networks and contacts that helps each of us to better live our time abroad, away from home. It is also a best practice that Università Cattolica can always count on. It is certainly an international initiative that needs to be deepened and that is based on very deep roots, the Christian roots. The networking drink in particular was a success and allowed us to meet a new alumna of Cattolica, Simona. So: mission complete!"

William Callegari, promoter of Alumni Cattolica in Brussels, also expressed his satisfaction with the result achieved so far: "The European Chapter of Alumni Cattolica is a reality of great value within the framework of the Italian System in Brussels. A good group of friends and alumni who dedicate their time to the University and with whom we have already achieved important goals: our Chapter was in fact responsible for the drafting of the European Manifesto, to which 15 other Italian universities adhered, and was responsible for the drafting of the general regulations. We have a very proactive approach and we participate in all the tables of the European Coordination, maintaining a direct line with the University, with our Council and with the value system of our University. For 2018 we have some news in store, which we will unveil at an upcoming event in Brussels. Stay tuned!"
