Founder Zucchetti

A clear perception of reality, resourcefulness, flexibility, a strong dose of courage and foresight: these are the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur.

What kind of training did you have?

[…] I enrolled in the Faculty of Economics and Business at Università Cattolica. A choice that I remember with pleasure.

Who were your teachers?

Above all, the names of Francesco Vito, at the time professor of Political Economy and rector of the University, Professor Siro Lombardini, professor of Economic Mathematics, stand out. And then Professor Mario Romani, professor of Economic History.

Did you like to study?

Studying was my job and I did it well, with commitment. And I have to say that with time the results came. Together with another student, in July 1960, at the age of 22, I was the only one to graduate in the course out of more than 1,500 enrolled.

For my thesis, I chose a topic that was related to my origins: "Assistance and social security in Italian agriculture. Comparison with industry and other MEC countries". After all, I never lost contact with the land: during the summer I worked with my father in the fields and, after getting my driver's license, I helped a local merchant in transporting hay.

And the real turning point?

In '66 I hired my first employee. In 1972 the requests for collaboration increased thanks to the introduction of VAT: the number of employees on the payroll became twenty-two. Business was going well. In 1975 I decided to leave teaching to pursue my projects full-time. In 1982, at the first conference on the use of information technology as a means of support for the management of professional accounting firms, I managed to sell the first software. The rest came as a result, with time. The trick: set goals and figure out how to achieve them.
