Magistrate at the Court of Palermo

After completing her studies, Marzia Sabella decided to devote herself to Civil Law, her great passion, but, at the suggestion of her brother Alfonso, she tried to compete in the judiciary, winning it. [...] In 2002 he began working on an ambitious investigation, which attempted to locate Italy's most notorious fugitive, Bernardo Provenzano, who had been at the top of the Interior Ministry's wanted list for thirty years.

To capture Provenzano we had created a special unit composed of agents from the Captures section of the Palermo Flying Squad and a group from the Central Operational Service in Rome. We had taken a decommissioned commissioner, and there we had set up listening rooms for phone calls and placed monitors where we could see the images of the cameras installed in the various observation points.

We understood that it was him because he didn't make a scene like an ordinary criminal, but behaved like a charismatic boss, even complimenting the men of the Flying Squad. Moreover, that lair was the materialization of everything we had ascertained since 2002.

The technological contribution was fundamental in the initial phase of the investigation. We also resorted to planes that could fly over Corleone without being seen, without lights, American technology.
