The UCSC Alumni Group of Dubai was born on the proposal of some former students during the lockdown period. After the first calls, the first face-to-face events were organised on the occasion of Università Cattolica's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai. Worth mentioning is the first reunion on the day of the inauguration and the meeting with the Rector, Prof. Franco Anelli, in February 2022, which formalized the UCSC International Alumni Committee – Dubai & UAE.
Over the years, the UAE chapter has proposed initiatives in the area, from networking events to sports activities, also with other Italian Alumni realities. In October 2023, in view of COP28, which would have taken place in the United Arab Emirates, an important event was organized at the Italian Cultural Institute in Abu Dhabi entitled "Shaping the Future: Cop28 and the Energy Transition".
The alumni present in Dubai have heterogeneous study paths, different professional seniority and experience in the United Arab Emirates for more or less years. In this way, the Committee aims to facilitate acquaintances among former students of the same University, create opportunities for professional growth and strengthen the presence of Università Cattolica in the UAE.
