Alumni UCSC Far&Middle East

A historical cultural tradition, new economic frontiers and professional opportunities have led numerous Alumni to move to Asia, where today they work in different professions in every field.

Since March 2018, some local groups have been born in the cities of Shanghai, Beijing and Tokyo, thanks also to the partnerships of Università Cattolica with local universities. In Hong Kong, on the other hand, the Italian community is among the largest in all of China and over the years, more and more alumni of the University have found themselves in the area for professional reasons.
Considering the groups of Alumni who met and spontaneously gathered in these cities, the UCSC International Alumni Committee – Far&Middle East was formalized in 2019.

The activities in the area were varied, from numerous networking events to institutional events. In Shanghai, Prof. Antonella Sciarrone Alibrandi, now a Judge of the Constitutional Court, has met with former students several times, so in Hong Kong Prof. Giuseppe Riva, Director of the Humane Technology Lab, spoke at the event on artificial intelligence in the presence of Carmelo Ficarra, Consul General of Italy.

Furthermore, from 2023, the presence in Hong Kong is increasingly supported by the Italian Chamber of Commerce.
